Simple Sardines on Toast
This classic snack and suppertime staple has become one of the UK’s most popular treats.
For as long as John West have been putting sardines into tins, people have been putting them on toast and popping them under the grill.
Small wonder then that this classic snack and suppertime staple has become one of the UK’s most popular treats. And if you’re one of the very few who haven’t yet sampled the mega-delicious delights of sardines on toast, it’s time you spent 5 minutes carrying out a very tasty experiment.
Our traditional sardines on toast recipe is quick, simple and scrumptious. Mash the John West Sardines, mayonnaise and lemon juice together in a bowl with a fork. Toast the bread and spread your sardine mix thickly on top. Enjoy!
If you like, you can toast one side of your bread very lightly, then spread on your sardine mix and pop the toast back under the grill for a couple of minutes until the sardines are nice and warm. Either way, this is a wonderful snack.
