The ultimate Biryani dish

Add some flavour to your mid-week curry with this simple, one pan biryani dish. Easy, quick and full of protein for a dish guaranteed to win over a crowd. Stir it. Serve it. Sorted.

Step 1
Heat the oil in a large frying pan and add the onions. Cook gently over medium low heat for about 20-25 minutes, stirring often, until well caramelised – they should be a rich golden brown.
Step 2
Add the frozen peas to the pan with a splash of water then pour in the pouch of rice and heat gently for a few minutes, according to instructions.
Step 3
Meanwhile, tear open the Stir & Serve pouch and heat in the microwave at 600W for 2 minutes. Alternatively empty the pouch into a pan and heat gently on the hob for about 3 or 4 minutes. Check that its piping hot.
Step 4
Pour the tuna into the pan and stir through the rice, or serve the rice onto 2 plates and spoon the tuna over the top. Finish with some chopped coriander.
Step 5
Tip: You can prepare the onions in advance and keep in the fridge for a couple of days. Just warm the onions through thoroughly in the pan before adding the other ingredients – making dinner even speedier!
