SPREADABLES & RYVITA - MADE FOR EACH OTHER!
By Simon – Ship’s Cook
The great thing about John West Spreadables is that there’s six of them. Six fish-tastic fillers in six fantastic flavours that all make delicious sandwiches, toast toppings or breadstick dips. They’re wonderful on health-conscious Ryvita crispbreads too, which also happen to come in a wide range of exciting varieties. And that’s where everything starts to get very tasty indeed!
As a chef it didn’t take me long to work out that different flavours of Spreadables could be teamed with complementary flavours of Ryvita crispbreads, to make perfect pairings. So I got down to it and made the following mouthwatering matches -
Tuna Mayo Sweetcorn Spreadable meets Cracked Black Pepper Ryvita
A classic combination of flavours, given an extra boost of black pepper on a nice and crunchy crsipbread.
Tuna Mexican Style Spreadable meets Hint of Chilli Ryvita
A tongue tingling Tex-Mex combo of kidney beans and sweetcorn, made just that little bit spicier with a subtle, chili flavoured crispbread.
Tuna Mediterranean Spreadable meets Mediterranean Ryvita
This one was a no brainer. A Mediterranean inspired tuna, tomato and olive flavour teamed up with a crispbread coming from exactly the same direction. Voila, as the French say.
Tuna Mild Curry Spreadable meets Sweet Onion Ryvita
Mild curry spices and sweet juicy sultanans, complemented by a crispbread with a tangy mild onion taste, makes for an Asian inspired snack that’s packed with flavour.
Mackerel Wholegrain Mustard Spreadable meets Sunflower Seed & Oats Ryvita
This combination is all about balance. The strong and distinctive bite of Mackerel and Mustard, offset by a plain tasting but simply delicious crispbread.
Salmon Yoghurt & Mint Spreadable meets Multigrain Ryvita
This is another combo where balancing one taste sensation against its opposite, really comes off. Here, the freshness and zing of the yoghurt and mint work great with the bold but simple flavour of multigrain.
Well, those are my favourite Spreadables and Crispreads connections, but why not experiment yourselves and see what you come up with? You can even receive 50p off too with our online coupons.
